Paint Class & Wood Craft Workshops
- the classroom teacher will work with our admin team to secure a date and desired project
- all materials and supplies are included
- classes are approx 60 minutes
- we need approximately 15 min. of set up time prior to the start of class
- and 15 minutes clean up time at the end of the class
- students’ desks should be oriented towards the instructor station prior to vacating the classroom
- we will bring our own table for the instructor station
- we will need access to a sink (to fill our bucket, and to empty it at the end of class)
- if your class is in a portable, kindly provide us with a pail full of water for set up
- we will clean the paint off the students’ desks during our clean up time
- we do not provide aprons or smocks, so please advise students to dress for mess
- you will need to prepare an area for finished paintings to be placed while they dry
- we request that your students vacate the classroom while we are setting up and cleaning up (teachers find that taking their students to the washroom to wash their hands after the class works perfectly)
- for schools more than 20 minutes from Jarvis, a travel fee may apply
- view our gallery of classroom visits HERE (will open in new tab)
The Art of Improv
- classes can take place in the classroom, provided the desks can be moved out of the way to have the students in the middle. Alternatively, a common area such as a gym, would work
- improv (or Improvisation) is about working together, listening to each other, and creating /telling a story together
- it’s about knowing when to take the lead, and knowing when to follow
- it’s about creating fun memories
- it’s about developing creativity, imagination, spontaneity, and quick thinking skills
- the collaborative nature of improv results in improved confidence, camaraderie, body language awareness, personal interaction, and much more
**all outreach instructors have an up to date vulnerable sector police check
