As we are enjoying the last weeks of summer, with its more relaxed schedule, we are starting to hear all those “Back To School” commercials. We are already feeling a bit nostalgic for all the promises the summer season held and for the good times we’ve enjoyed, as we are planning to go back to our regular fall schedule.
But fall is also full of beauties and possibilities! As the days get shorter, the nights cooler, we get to enjoy the beautiful colours of the trees, and the sky is bluer and deeper than ever. We enjoy the bounty of fruits and vegetables of the season. We get to wear comfy knits and sip on pumpkin spice lattes.
It’s also time to go back to a more regular schedule. The routine of it can be a positive thing, as it allows us to find a comforting rhythm to our days. It’s also a great moment to schedule new activities to spice it up a little!
Lupton Street Studios have again this year a wonderful list of classes and activities you can choose from:
Learning piano is a pleasure with our competent teachers! We offer different styles of classes for the various needs of our students:
- Individual lessons – geared to all ages. Individual lessons are great because they can be tailored to what the student needs. Shorter classes (30 mins) for beginners or younger kids, longer classes for more advanced students.
- Deluxe lessons – This is a great option for kids! Each class lasts an hour, which is divided between learning music theory through fun games, sight reading on an iPad training app, and one-on-one time with the teacher. This is a perfect formula that keeps children engaged through the variety of teaching styles. If you want to know more about the Deluxe lessons, watch this little video!
You feel a little intimidated by the piano and would like to start with an instrument just as worthy but that feels simpler? Try our ukulele lessons! Learn a couple of chords and you’ll already be the life of the party! It’s easy, it’s fun and it’s rewarding!
Maybe you ARE the instrument. Maybe you’d like to explore vocal lessons!
Everybody can learn to sing! Maybe you already have a good voice, or maybe you really don’t know how to go about it. Not a problem, our instructors will start from where you are! You will have fun learning to control your breath, adjust your pitch, and singing songs that you love! We’ve had students from all ages for singing classes and all of them made amazing progress in the course of a few months. It’s a great way to explore your musicality!
We are so glad to say that our Musical Theatre program for kids is back this fall! We’ve had so much fun the last couple of years and this year promises to be even better! There are two groups in this category:
- Mini Musical Theatre offers kids age 4 and up a great intro to the world of music through songs, fun games, dance, etc. You’ve got a little one full of energy, who loves singing and working with other kids? Or maybe your little one is a bit more shy but only needs that safe and pleasant environment to find new confidence to express the music in their heart! It’s a really fun, short 10 weeks program for little ones.
- Youth Musical Theatre is a program that focuses on kids that are slightly more advanced and interested to develop their talents in singing, in drama, and all aspects of performing. The program is geared towards kids 7 years old and up. It’s an amazing feeling to work hard as a group all year and be able to present a complete musical number with costumes, dances and everything at the end of the year recital!
